The HDF School of Management (HDFSOM), Bhubaneswar is the first academic initiative of the HDF Trust. Its objective is to bridge the demand-supply gap of high quality management education in the eastern part of the country in general and Orissa in particular. The basis of School's differentiation is through a development sector orientation, high quality education, transparent and fair practices relating to stakeholders and integration of the world of academics and practice under one umbrella.

The programmes of the HDFSOM are its Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM), Post Graduate Diploma in Financial Services (PGDFM), and Post Graduate Diploma in Rural Management (PGDRM) and Post Graduate course in Micro Finance Management (PGCM). They are designed to impart adequate knowledge and develop skills and attitude essential for managers to operate successfully in the increasingly dynamic and complex business and civil society environment. It will deepen the participant's understanding of the individual in the organizational setting, the environmental context of the organization, the dynamics of the organizational functioning and the analytical tools and techniques required in the management of the organization. The institute has got approval from AICTE for PGDM program. AICTE approval for the PGDFM, PGDRM and PGCM is awaited and it is expected that the same will be available before the start of the program in July, 2010.
